Erma Anderson

Erma Anderson was born in July of 1921 to Robert and Eula Anderson. She had one older brother, Thomas, and two younger brothers Robert Jr. and Alfred. Ms. Anderson has dedicated her life to helping others. When asked to describe Erma, her niece stated “Aunt Erma has a heart as big as Texas and never met anyone she wouldn’t help, expecting nothing in return. Her love of God shines brightly through her love of people. I wish everyone could experience her sweet spirit and giving heart.” Ms. Anderson has assisted many women over the years by providing safe affordable housing. Without her, our foundation would not exist. We are forever grateful.

Mildred Cousins-Moore

Mildred Alberta Cousins was born on March 20, 1920 to Rufus Lee and Alice Avarilla Cousins in Merryville, Louisiana. Known as “Totsie” by family and friends, she married Captain Thomas J. Moore and moved to Kirbyville, Texas. She was passionate about family and made it her mission to support non-profit organizations that provided resources and services to children in need. Totsie played an active role in multiple generations of family, leaving a lasting legacy. You never left her home hungry, often sharing a meal and working through life’s trials and tribulations. She was tough as nails and no-nonsense, having spent time during WWII as a welder at the shipyard in Beaumont. Totsie was a true blessing, a joy to spend time with. She will forever be missed.
